How to create a luxury home on a budget.
We all want our home Neutral Palette - create a simple timeless look by using a neutral palette, contrasting with deeper tones and richer hues. There is nothing more classic and lux feeling than black and white, so by keeping it neutral you don’t fall into trouble of having outdated statement cushions within a year.
Lighting
A well-lit space makes all the difference. Invest in the right lighting to really take your space to the next level. Whether that may be a table on the lap in entry or a hanging pendant over your dining. Make sure your lighting choices give the feel/ambience you’re after. For example, dimmed moody lights can really make a statement in a master bedroom or a tv room.
Greenery
A lush plant in the right place can really transform and inject into a somewhat boring space. Placement and size is key, so always make sure it fits the space nicely not overcrowding or too little that its lackluster
Rugs
Adding another layer to your flooring can really make a statement. Choose a rug that will really highlight the space
Art
Nothing says MULLA like a stunning piece of art, with the right placement and a good frame. Be selective with what you put up on your walls, careful not to overcrowd the space. One large print that makes a statement at the end of a dining table or in an entry is a good idea.
Cushions
You never notice a few cheap cushions amongst some really plush ones. Invest in some neutral feather inner pillows to throw in with your other cushions to soak up the shine and distract from the quality of your cheaper ones.
Minimalize
A lot of the time, less is more. So clear out any cluttered space like shelves or tables and select a few key pieces to style nicely.
Luxury Items
Have a few “expensive/designer” pieces and style them amongst your other items. This might be a lien throw or a piece of art/sculpture.
